The Call for Makers, Performers, Tinkerers, and Crafters is Now Open!

UCMMF IMCOur call for makers is now open!  Any groups or individuals interested in participating in this event should complete this simple application. Deadline for applications is September 6th.

Last year our Faire featured more then 20 makers and over 400 community members were in attendance. With your help, we would like to make this year the biggest UC Mini Maker Faire ever!

A little about the event:

Designed to feature both established and local “makers”, the Urbana-Champaign Maker Faire is a family-friendly celebration featuring rockets and robots, DIY science and technology, alternative energy, bicycles, unique hand-made crafts, music, art, and educational workshop installations. That being said, if possible we would like all projects to be encouraging of participation from an audience of all ages.

The Faire will be held at the Independent Media Center in downtown Urbana from 10am to 4pm held on Saturday, September 21. We’ll provide tables and chairs and electricity(if requested). We’ll handle all the publicity, and we’ll work with you to connect us all through Facebook and Twitter to get the buzz going. We are supported again this year by an Urbana Arts Council grant, so there’s no cost to be a Maker and attendees will get in free.

Have a project idea, or know someone who might? Let us know! We are looking for a diverse group of talented individuals to showcase so Apply Now.
